PDF - SL2R Challenger Pipelayer
The Challenger Services SL2R pipelayer is available
with a Cat® 928G or IT28G tractor. The Caterpillar
928G and IT28G series tractors have rubber tires
for on or off-road applications. The bucket up front
gives the machine more versatility on the job to
handle overburden, fill, sand or gravel. And with the
IT28G, which is also equipped with forks, the
contractor can now handle pallets, pipe, slings and
more. Total versatility in one machine.

PDF - Pipelayer Attachment Challenger Model SL4CH
The Challenger Services SL4CH pipelayer attach-
ment is fabricated specifically for the Cat®
Challenger 65, 75, 85 and 95 Tractor. The
Caterpillar Challenger Series tractors have rubber
track belts ranging in sizes from 25” to 30” wide.
This provides more traction and stability and unlike
steel tracks, rubber tracks can travel on paved
roads. Continuous power to both track belts is
provided through differential steering. This means
that the Challenger tractor with a SL4CH pipelayer
attachment is extremely maneuverable even in a
turn. Economically speaking, rubber belts outlast
tires.

The CPC561 hydraulic pipelayer drawworks conversion
converts the Caterpillar 561 and 571 pipelayers from a
mechanical to a hydraulically operated drawworks. The
hydraulically driven planetary gear winches will provide
smooth precise load handling capabilities with infinitely
variable line speeds.

The Challenger Services CP66 pipelayer is available with a Cat® D6D LGP or D6D tractor.
The Caterpillar D6D tractors operate smoothly with precision load control. The oval track gives the operator complete stability in all terrain. It is easy to operate with a minimum amount of training or experience. This pipelayer has infinitely variable speeds with an optional free fall on the load line. There is also an optional two speed on the load line or boom line. All hydraulics used to operate the pipelayer are plumbed through the original tractor hydraulics. This feature alone induces cost efficiency due to less maintenance, thus enhancing the operational safety of the pipelayer. This pipelayer has less ground pressure than the 561M and 50% more capacity.
